SHOWBIZ KIDS CORNER
Episodic Season!
Episodic season is an exciting time for young and older actors alike. Typically spanning July to November, casting directors are seeking talent for new and returning TV shows. It's very important to keep your skills sharp and be ready to deliver at a moment's notice!
Backstage.com is an industry-standard. You can learn more about the various seasons on their site!
Coaching
Identify a trained acting coach who is available to meet with you either in person or via Zoom/FaceTime. It's important to have a coach lined up before you land an audition. Auditions can be requested the same day or next day, and you don't want to waste valuable time that could be spent learning and perfecting your material.
Online sites
Make sure that all of your materials (Headshots/Resumes/Demo Reels) are updated and uploaded on your online casting sites: Actors Access, Casting Networks, and Casting Frontier. Casting directors review these materials and can make the decision if they want to call you in based on these "First Impression" items.
Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to live in Los Angeles to get into the acting business! Backstage.com has a list of Open Casting calls in an area near you!
